The Telluride project presents the first results of a material research using volcanic rocks in combination with porcelain clay and high-firing glazing. During the firing the lava melts breaking the porcelain structure and creating an organic and unexpected texture. When the two components bond the material becomes solid with a high resistance to impact. The Lava stone was sourced from the hills of the Phlegraean Fields in the North of Naples.
